Randy Mario Poffo (15. November 1952 – 20. Mai 2011), besser bekannt unter seinem Ringnamen „Macho Man“ Randy Savage, war ein US-amerikanischer Wrestler, der vor allem für seine Zeit bei der World Wrestling Federation (WWF) und der World Championship Wrestling (WCW) bekannt ist. Der Sportjournalist Bill Simmons bezeichnete Savage als „einen der größten Wrestler aller Zeiten“ – eine Aussage, die von vielen anderen Wrestlern der Branche bestätigt wurde. Wrestling-Fans erkannten ihn an seinem unverwechselbar extravaganten Ringoutfit, seiner rauen Stimme, seiner Intensität im und außerhalb des Rings, der Verwendung des Finales von Elgars „Pomp and Circumstance March Nr. 1“ als Einlaufmusik und seinem charakteristischen Ausruf „Oooh yeah!“. Während des Großteils seiner Zeit bei der WWF und WCW wurde Savage von seiner Ehefrau Elizabeth Hulette gemanagt. Savage errang in seiner 32-jährigen Karriere sechs Weltmeistertitel, darunter zwei als WWF World Heavyweight Champion und vier als WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Als WWF-Champion besaß er eine ähnliche Zugkraft wie Hulk Hogan. Der ehemalige WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion wurde von der WWE zum größten Titelträger aller Zeiten gekürt und dafür gelobt, dem Titel durch seine herausragenden Leistungen im Ring zu mehr Glaubwürdigkeit verholfen zu haben. Savage gewann 1987 den WWF King of the Ring und 1995 die WCW World War 3. Er war im Laufe seiner Karriere der Hauptkämpfer zahlreicher Pay-per-View-Veranstaltungen, darunter WrestleMania IV, V und VIII (bei WrestleMania VIII sogar im Doppel-Main-Event), zwei der ersten fünf SummerSlam-Shows und Starrcade 1995. Er wurde bei der Gründung der Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame im Jahr 1996 aufgenommen, 2015 folgte die posthume Aufnahme in die WWE Hall of Fame.
