Andrea Martin
Andrea Martin (* 15. Januar 1947) ist eine amerikanisch-kanadische Schauspielerin, Sängerin und Komikerin, deren Karriere Fernsehen, Film und Broadway umfasst. Bekannt wurde sie vor allem durch ihre Emmy-prämierten Auftritte in der einflussreichen Sketch-Comedy-Show SCTV, wo sie mit ihren einprägsamen Figuren und treffenden Promi-Imitationen berühmt wurde. Am Broadway gewann Martin zwei Tony Awards für ihre Rollen in „My Favorite Year“ und der Wiederaufnahme von „Pippin“ und hält den Rekord für die meisten Tony-Nominierungen als Beste Nebendarstellerin in einem Musical. Sie wirkte in gefeierten Produktionen wie „Noises Off“, „Anatevka“ und „Frankenstein Junior“ mit. Im Film feierte sie Erfolge mit ihrer komödiantischen Rolle in „My Big Fat Greek Wedding“ und dessen Fortsetzungen sowie mit Auftritten in „Hedwig and the Angry Inch“ und „Wag the Dog“. Martin lieh ihre Stimme auch Animationsfilmen wie „Anastasia“ und „Jimmy Neutron – Der geniale Junge“ und stellte damit ihre Vielseitigkeit unter Beweis. Sie wurde in Canada’s Walk of Fame aufgenommen und wird für ihre Beiträge zur Comedy und den darstellenden Künsten geehrt.
