Mike Myers
Michael John Myers ist ein kanadischer Filmschauspieler, Drehbuchautor, Filmproduzent und Synchronsprecher.
Mike Myers wurde als Sohn britischer Einwanderer in Scarborough (Kanada) geboren und begann seine Karriere im Filmgeschäft Mitte der 1970er Jahre mit kleinen Rollen in verschiedenen US-amerikanischen Fernsehserien. Ab 1989 war er einer der Drehbuchautoren von Saturday Night Live, im selben Jahr wurde Myers hierfür zusammen mit seinen zahlreichen Kollegen mit dem Emmy ausgezeichnet. Bekannt wurde er durch seine erste Hauptrolle in der Erfolgskomödie Wayne’s World, die aus einer für die Sendung Saturday Night Live, in der er auch schon Mick Jagger parodiert hatte, entwickelten Figur hervorging. Noch größere Bekanntheit erlangte er durch seine Austin-Powers-Filme, in denen er mehrere Rollen spielt. Der erste Teil dieser Reihe kam 1997 unter dem Titel Austin Powers – Das Schärfste, was Ihre Majestät zu bieten hat in die Kinos, Myers war bei diesem Film auch als Drehbuchautor beteiligt.
