Matthew McConaughey
Matthew David McConaughey (* 4. November 1969) ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler. Nach seiner Durchbruchrolle in Dazed and Confused (1993) wurde er zunächst durch romantische Komödien wie The Wedding Planner (2001) und How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003) bekannt. Ab 2011 änderte er jedoch den Fokus seiner Karriere und widmete sich anspruchsvolleren Rollen, was als „McConaissance“ bezeichnet wird.
Seine gefeierten Darstellungen in Filmen wie Mud (2012), Magic Mike (2012) und The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) mündeten in einem Oscar als Bester Hauptdarsteller für Dallas Buyers Club (2013). Zudem beeindruckte er als Rust Cohle in der HBO-Serie True Detective (2014) und in Christopher Nolans Interstellar (2014).
Heute ist McConaughey für seine vielseitigen Rollen bekannt, arbeitet als Produzent, Autor und Professor und veröffentlichte 2020 seine Bestseller-Autobiografie Greenlights.
